This week, HipHopOfficial dubs T3 as their Artist of the Week. In the clip above he speaks on why Baatin had to be apart of the new Slum Village album as well as his upcoming solo project.

Just spotted this clip (at NR) of Elzhi going a capella during a Slum Village performance at the Conga Room in L.A. And the verse is cool and all, and I’ma let him finish, but… where the hell is ELmatic!?

Last week after the DC stop of the Rock the Bells mini-tour, Funkadelic Freestyles Radio chopped it up with T3 for a quick 10 minute interview. The Slum Village member addressed the absence of Slaughterhouse on the final night of the tour, the emotional performance the day after Baatin’s death and the new Slum Village album (Villa Manifesto, September 22nd).

They speak on their upcoming album (which is sitting on the top 3 of my personal anticipation list of 2009), the controversy with Baatin before he passed, the trials and tribulations that most groups go through and they even offer advise on how to deal with the tension. And yes, I just posted this at 3:30 in the damn morning. My sleeping patterns fucking suck right now.

Oh, how I need one of these in my possession!

With the recent passing of Slum Village member Baatin, we at Motivation and our partner Mick Boogie wanted to pay tribute to one of Detroit’s finest hip hop groups ever. The Slumdog t-shirt is done in classic Run DMC styling, but we flipped the iconic logo to stand for Slum Village. Proceeds from the sale of this t-shirt will be donated directly to the families of Baatin & J Dilla.
