In follow up to his recently released LP A Day Late & A Dollar Short with Blu, Brooklyn based Sene partners up with South Florida producer Numonics for “Departure Time”. The duo prepare you for take off with this new track which features a rich orchestral feel and the smooth nature flow that Sene is known for. “Departure Time” is featured on Numonics’ upcoming release Being Cool Doesn’t Pay The Bills which will be mixed by none other than DJ RTC of Ruby Hornet.

In addition to Sene, the album boasts features by Donny Goines, QuESt, Co$$, Butta Verses, Monsters Ink and more. Being Cool Doesn’t Pay The Bills is presented by IM KING and will be released for free in January 2010.

While out in NYC for CMJ, Sene got inspired to lay down a quick verse in which he explains below:

This is a joint I did during CMJ. I was given a beat disc at the Bilal show. I heard this joint while having a brew and with CMJ being what it is a bunch of ideas started running through my mind regarding trends, college life and what it is or isnt for some folks and some other experiences. When I got home I put all the ideas down and this is what came from it.

We wanted to go gospel choir on this one..for the chorus that’s what I was feeling. I was in LA when I wrote this…Back and forth stressing with the business end of this project, spending so much time wanting to make sure things went right that I felt like I was missing out on everything around me, one day I woke up and felt like a month passed me and i didnt get to experience a day of it…I started self evaluating events in my life that lead to that point. – Sene
