I’m calling it right now: this guy is gonna catch the Maino treatment, meaning he’ll have a hot single with a bunch of accompanying remixes, but he’ll ultimately have his album pushed back farther than Jamie Foxx’s hairline for no reason and when it does drop – provided he’s still signed to his label by then – it’ll promptly sell about 14 copies in its first week. We caught up with Red Cafe last week at Daddy’s House Studios in New York. He talks about his deal with Diddy, the sound of his music, some of his influences and who he thinks is next.
