A commentary that was supposed to be about Asher Roth but turned into an extended tangent about race in America. I had a million other things I wanted to say so I’ll try and follow up soon, cuz even though I know the Asher story is old I think the underlying issues run deep. I recorded conversations with Dan Charnas and Amanda Diva that were a big part of my thought process for this one but couldn’t work them into this vid.. will definitely get some of that footage up later.

With iCON the Mic King currently enduring intense daily training for his upcoming Half-Marathon run for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America on January 25th (to help raise funds and awareness), PackFM decided to challenge him to a race.

“The best goes like this. I challenge iCON to a race and bet that even though I haven’t competed in well over 10 years, I can beat him in a best of 3 sprint races without any training at all” – PackFM

For those that don’t know, PackFM was a gold medal winning Letterman in Track & Field at Brooklyn College and ranked Top 5 in his division. But you have to realize that was 10 years ago haha. And the fact that iCON has a considerable height/stride advantage. Regardless… the race was for a good cause as fans could bet on Pack of iCON and the proceeds went to the Foundation! I know in the blog world the most seen stuff is when rappers fuck around… be it beef, they got arrested, etc. So I wanted to showcase artists doing something positive. Big ups to Pack, iCON and the entire QN5 crew! Also… iCON is still running in the Half-Marathon this Sunday. So if you’d like to donate, hit up his MySpace.

Even though it took a few days, Hillary issued her concession speech at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC. Stating that this isn’t the party [she] planned but [she] sure likes the company. She also gave props to Obama and asked all those who voted for her to turn to Barack and support. Dope.

I saw in the comments for the original post that a lot of you believe that people will vote against Obama out of spite for Hilary losing. Do you honestly thing a vast majority, a high decisive rate of people will vote against their Democratic beliefs because of that? Also, thoughts on Hilary being a running mate for Barack? Together they would be a strong team and would basically win easy. Without, I’m scared that he might lose in a close race. Should be interesting.
