Open Happiness was created in the spirit of dedication and collaboration with artists and producers from across the US. It turned Coke’s famous “5-note tune” into a full length song. Butch Walker oversaw the recording of Travis McKoy and Brendon Urie in NYC, Cee-Lo and Janelle Monae in Atlanta, and Patrick Stump in LA. Butch Walker and Polow Da Don came together to mix multiple versions of the single, and add additional recordings. This continent-wide collaboration is now realized in Open Happiness. – Travis McCoy

Fall Out Boy’s lead singer (no, it’s not Pete Wentz smh) decided to cover Kanye’s latest single. In which he recorded in about 5 minutes with Garageband and using laptop speakers for a mic*) I actually fuck with this. Shake has some ideas a brewing. Shouts to OS.

Kanye’s version is obviously better. I hope Kanye doesn’t mind that I did it. It sounds like a personal song. I’m just a fan of it. It reminds me of ‘Heard It Through the Grapevine,’ in the way that you’re addressing an ex-lover, but I like the angle of ‘It’s not you, it’s me,’ ’cause there aren’t enough breakup songs that are honest about that. – Patrick Stump [via MTV]

So I’m in the process of shutting down the PC and laptop when I get a random (yet inevitable) IM from my dude Mr. Ketchum with some even more random video.
