A few weeks ago at Paid Dues, HipHopOfficial caught up with Slaughterhouse for a two part interview. Crook, Joe, Joell & Royce talk about how the machine formed, their roles within and when they plan to drop new material. Part 2 after the jump.

It sure took me long enough to edit the footage and get it uploaded, but I’ve done it. When Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz & Royce Da 5′9″ took the stage, I was actually in the press area behind them. I heard their intro and skipped a few walls, bypassed a few security gorillas and stood right in front of the stage (*shrugs…. I got it like that). I missed them open up with Slaughterhouse and got set for Joell to perform Hip Hop (shown above). Pardon the bass distortion as I’m not working with thousand dollar equipment and I was basically standing on a subwoofer. It gets better… especially when I skip some more walls, bypass more security and check the show from on stage (I told you… I got it like that haha). I have to say, my favorite part of the their performance was when Joey jumped off stage to watch Crooked I spit from a fans perspective. The way him and Joell were vibing to Crook spitting was dope to see. Artists enjoying music. Slaughterhouse!!!

A look at Paid Dues 2009, through the eyes of HipHopOfficial. My video editing skills are far from timely. Add that to the fact iMovie and all my editing software is acting like a complete bitch; I still haven’t got my footage ready. It will come, one day haha.

As always, the big bad Brother tore it down this weekend at Paid Dues. This is the first, of many, videos that I’ll be posting from the festival. Unfortunately for ya’ll, I wasn’t aware that I could use my press pass to my advantage until after Ali’s set (ain’t that a bitch?). So I was deep in the crowd and did the best I could. The above medley jumps off with the man himself blessing me with a dope video drop. For those that have met Ali, will know that he is one of the most humble artists ever. Aside from the fact he has put out two of the best hip hop albums in the past 6 years, his personality and attitude is another big key on why he’s one of my top 5 emcees in the game. The above clip also features performances of Bitchslap!, Room With a View & Take Me Home. I would’ve got more but… it’s Brother fuckin Ali. I wanted to experience the show. Much closer, and better quality footage of Slaughterhouse, Atmosphere, Murs and more coming soon.

In the above clip, Slug talks about how him and ANT have switched up their live show throughout the years. He also goes in about the formation of Felt (his collab effort with Murs, for the slow folk) and the possibility of a third album. Honestly, if you haven’t seen Atmosphere perform live you’re missing out. Slug is honestly incredible on stage. I’ve seen him take control over thousands upon thousands of people and just throw them in a trance for their entire set. It’s pretty crazy. I haven’t been able to fully experience Atmos perform When Life Gives You Lemons, so I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited for Paid Dues 2009. March 28th!

In part 2 Murs expands on his hip hop accountability talk, growiwng up labeled as an at-risk youth, and how he transormed responsibility into a tour that hes known world-wide for. Paid Dues sucka!

A sweet webisode of Murs from the road as he and fellow tour mates hit the road for Paid Dues. The footage is from last spring but it’s still dope to see these guys together.
