Back in April Illecism won our Illa J/J Dilla contest (shouts to Grynch as well). Now he’s back, and blessing the NewMusicCartel (and a few other sites) with choice freestyles. NahRight is up first with Nicatyne on the beat box.

NahRight and John Public continue their “talk-back” series about what people on the street are concerned about. Here, the issue of sensationalist journalism in hip-hop is explored from both an artist and fan perspective. We interviewed managers, engineers, fans and artists to get their perspective on what is going on in the culture and what NEEDS to be going on.

Only two episodes in, but I’m really enjoying this series.

NahRight and John Public have teamed up to produce an original video series that gives the average hip-hop fan, artist and/or consumer the platform to talk back about their culture. We’re turning the camera away from the household names and onto the people on the corner who have their own valid opinions and thoughts on hip-hop music, the industry and what’s going on in the street.

Subjects include Asher Roth, Kid Cudi, Ludacris & T.I.

I really hope this gets as much eyeballs as it should. I know this next week should be pretty slow with people celebrating the holidays and New Year. We’re just 5 short days away from the release of Charles Hamilton’s upcoming mixtape, Staff Development, which drops on NahRight. The video above has Charles introducing Demevolist Music Group members Yung Nate, Sha-Leik, Show Tufli & B.A. while at his studio in Fredrick Douglas Academy.
