“No,” Fif said flatly when asked what his response would be to Dre’s request for a reunion collaboration. “No, I wouldn’t do it. I’d be on a record, on a song, on the [Detox] album, but not on that record [with Game]. That’s not making a song, that’s making an event — things for people to talk about. … So there’s a verse there that you think would be great for both of us, I just say, ‘Erase his verse and put something in better than that.’ “

Oh bullshit. Let’s be honest here. Your album is hitting stores next week and everyone knows your marketing plan already. You know you want a response (or something). We don’t believe you… but I do applaud you for suing WSFF haha.

50 Cent has literally changed his tune. When MTV News recently asked whether he’d like the Jiggaman to respond to him, Fif said, “I could care less whether he replies to me.”

50 did note that a battle between him and Hov would thoroughly engage the game.

“Well, it would be great. It would be great for hip-hop,” 50 said about a battle between him and Jay. “It would probably be interesting, but I don’t think one of us will survive it.”

Fif also admitted that despite touring together in the past, appearing in a Reebok commercial, being photographed together at various events over the years and even sharing Madison Square’s stage a few years back during a monumental moment with T.I., Diddy and Kanye West, he and Jay-Z have no real friendship.

“I don’t have a relationship with Jay-Z,” 50 added. “We’re just both apart of hip-hop culture. We’re not friends. We don’t call each other to talk at leisure.”

Fif says he doesn’t know if Hov will respond to this latest dis, but he would absolutely go at Jay if the shoe were on the other foot.

“I feel like ‘everyman rap’ is kind of coming back, you know what I mean?” the 22 year-old said about his relatable lyrics. “And people are really feeling it, because it’s something they can rap to. It’s something they can live by, because everybody doesn’t get to ride in a Maybach every day.”

It’s not “Maybach Music” just yet for Don. “It’s ‘Honda Music’ for me,” he laughed. – MTV

Working strictly off an a cappella track, Barker crafted his “Forever” mix from the ground up, spending a week tinkering in the studio with his production partner, Sweatshop. The main goal, he said, was to build a drum line that matched the constantly shifting mood and tempo of the song, which famously features verses from Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Eminem, even if that meant showing a bit of restraint on the remix — something he’s not used to doing.

“Remixes are hard, because some of my critics will be like, ‘Trav, you shoulda gone bananas on it,’ but going bananas on it will sometimes take away from how cool a song is — it’s a happy medium,” he laughed. “With this one, I see a gradual crescendo — it just gets bigger and bigger and bigger, all the way up until the last chorus, where I crash out and there’s a big Phil Collins moment, with a drum-fill solo underneath Drake’s chorus. It was a tough one, man.”

So is Drake happy with the end result? Barker has no idea — seems Drizzy hasn’t even heard the remix yet. No one has. Until now, that is.

“No one’s heard this!” Barker said. “Actually, Marshall [Mathers, a.k.a. Eminem] heard it, and he loved it — but no one else has.”

Aubrey speaks with MTV about the Drakeberry incident that went down back in April.

“I’ll never forget the night, man, when I went up to Hot 97, and it wasn’t scheduled,” Drake explained. “It wasn’t like, you know, ‘Drake’s coming up here Tuesday.’ It was literally like, ‘Funk Flex wants to meet you,’ and bam, like, two seconds later, it was like, ‘Let’s go on the radio and just kill New York.’ I’ll never forget how nervous I was. It was such a rookie hip-hop moment — and, obviously, the controversy of me pulling out my phone and rapping off my phone because I just wasn’t prepared. A lot of people don’t know the difference between freestyle or off the top and coming to a radio show knowing you got to go there, so you got verses cued up in your head, whether they be off your upcoming album or verses just that you have laying around. A lot of artists get that preparation time.”

Drake said the moment was an important steppingstone.

“That moment, just as far as hip-hop, as far as MCing goes, that moment was one of those … it was just, ‘Whoa! I’m really here and I got to get better. I got get to be better than this. I can never be caught off guard again,’ ” Drake said. “That was probably one of the most interesting moments of my life this year. I’m a writer, man. I appreciate the elements of hip-hop. I appreciate a guy like Common who goes city to city and just spits at the crowd for 10 minutes about everything he sees. I admire talent like that, because that’s just not my creative process. So, you know, as far as moments this year go, though, I’ve had amazing stories. I don’t want to tell them all in interviews, because then Thank Me Later will just be empty, so I think I’m going to tell them in this album as vivid as I possibly can.”

I don’t understand where folks got the idea that Beans already signed, but 50 said they spoke and they still have a long way to go (aka Fif needs to figure out the best way for him to come out on top of the deal).

“I had a meeting with him today,” 50 said Thursday. “First we gotta start with the music — where’s the music? Then we have to get into what it would take to bring him over to G-Unit as a record company. You can’t sign a deal in a conversation — it’s a process. We’ll see what happens.”

Fif did note that he thinks Beanie is capable lyrically and looks forward to hearing what he has in his vaults.

“I would listen to what he has,” Fif explained. “His skills haven’t diminished. Nine times out of 10, he’ll have something workable already on deck. When you’re dealing with artists who have been established longer than you, it’s a process. You have to figure out exactly where they are at before you commit to being a part of those projects, because they have habits and they’ve been conditioned for something different. You have to figure out exactly what that is before you dive in.”
