After Meth crowd surfed for the fifth time and Reggie Noble jumped off a 20 foot tall speaker, they winded their set down with a Chicago instrumental….which just so happened to be Lupe’s “Kick Push”. Now, as Meth and Red were saying their goodbye’s with Soundtrakk’s soundtrack playing in the background, a shadowy figure emerged from behind the curtains and stormed the DJ booth. I was in the balcony so I couldn’t make out exactly who it was – but once he skipped the record and snatched the mic from the DJ, we all knew who was in the house. And seriously, Meth and Red were as stunned and suprised as the crowd. – Andrew

Even though he had a mishap with the audio of his own conversation with Lu, Andrew just shot over and interview Wasalu had with UB on 107.5 WGCI in Chicago.

Although my piece was a bit more extensive, we roughly cover the same topics: the Remember 2 Smile concert, his recent leaks (which came seemingly out of nowhere), not making MTV Hottest MCs List, and the death of Derrion Albert. During his Remember 2 Smile concert in Chicago last night, Lupe played a series of vignettes that Andrew so happened to capture (and explain below).

In this 7 part series, Lupe touches on a wide range of personal topics including Life, Death, Art, Fame, Faith, Politics, his home town of Chicago, and finally his upcoming album, We Are Lasers. Now, during our interview, I was advised not to ask anything about Lasers, because he was going to touch on it during his show. He did, and you can find out a few details, and acronyms from watching the clip. It’s still a mystery, but don’t say you were never invited inside the mind of Wasalu Jaco.

(yo)mikewaxx caught some footage of Lupe spitting a capella during his performance at the Congress Theatre in Chicago tonight. In which he also stated he has atleast four more albums on the way. Dope!

Until he feels completed and happy, Lupe’s gonna keep banging us over the head with new tracks. No complaints from Shake! This time around he goes in over Timbaland’s second single that originally featured Drake.
