So apparently Joe asked Jay to do the official remix to “Pump It Up,” but Jay charged an exorbitant price for a verse, before freestyling on the beat anyways on that Reebok mixtape. Another interesting note (though I’m sure some people may already know of this): Beanie Sigel, Freeway and Jay passed up that beat first.
