Many of you know Res as a member of the group Idle Warship (along with Graph Nobel and Talib Kweli). Others may have heard her incredible debut album How I Do or heard her vocals featured on various releases in the past decade. Preparing a return to the music scene, Res has released this cover version of “The Metro,” a song originally by 80’s new wave band Berlin. Res’ version of “The Metro” is featured on Mick Boogie Presents Idle Warship’s Party Robot mixtape (dropping later today) and is a reflection of new music from Res, who will also drop her upcoming EP Black Girls Rock very soon.

My man Tunji just shot over a very dope project that he helped coordinate and wanted the dopehouse and our illRoots fam to exclusively share with the world. You most likely will recognize the name from her work with Idle Warship (alongside Talib Kweli & Res) but this Canadian songwriter/vocalist has worked closely w/ The Neptunes, N.E.R.D., Esthero and much more. Currently working with Pharrell on a few new projects and prepping to tour Europe with Idle Warship; Graph wanted to release a five track EP that features songs about love, loss, hope and living life. I advise you don’t sleep on this… at all.
