In tribute to Derrion Albert (and others), a few Chicago emcees jump on a remix to a joint off 9th Wonder & David Banner’s upcoming project, Death of a Popstar. UPDATE: Added the full/explicit version (via FSD).

Due to the recent violent death of Derrion Albert and with fewer than 200 homicides since the beginning of the year killings in Chicago (www.chicagobreakingnews.com), these tragedies have not only attracted worldwide press, but major recording artists David Banner, Rhymefest, Naledge, Skooda Chose, 9th Wonder & Twista, have united to raise awareness of violence among urban youth within Chicago by organizing an Anti-Violence rally. The rally will serve as a creative canvas and backdrop for the video shoot of the release of the song Something’s Wrong.

Earlier this month 9th chops it up with SoulCulture.co.uk about the art of sampling, why producers that sample are misunderstood by older generations, his current work with Wale and David Banner; and why putting his face out there is important now in an age where, often, music is seen before it’s heard. I’m a pretty big fan of David Banner. One of the artists that can bring you both a Like a Pimp record and then turn around and drop something like this. This is the David Banner I really appreciate though. Dude speaks more than enough truth on this new record.
