Most Self Scientific fans know that a number of the songs that DJ Khalil does with other artists were originally songs or ideas intended for Self Scientific. Cashmere Agency and Prohibit NYC Present I Would Have Killed This is a full mixtape by Self Scientific’s frontman Chace Infinite and finds him going in over some of the more well-known beats that his partner, DJ Khalil, produced for other artists. The first joint leaked was over the popular Kinda Like A Big Deal track that featured The Clipse and Kanye West. Next, Chace attacked I Still Kill, the beat Khalil produced for 50 Cent and Akon. In classic Self Scientific fashion, Chace changes the subject matter to instead discuss life and his attempts to understand his own journey. The homie Chace Infinite recently shot a video for the second single off his upcoming mixtape, I Would Have Killed This. A tape that will showcase Chace rhyming over beats his partner in hip hop (Self Scientific), DJ Khalil, crafted for other folks in the industry.

Shot in the streets of Crown Heights, Brooklyn, NY..by Wesley Clouden (NappieeCorps). Me and my comrade Dedan Kasimu (Megabone) was just rollin’ around the neighborhood I live in. We wanted to capture the feeling of an ordinary day, how my day usually starts..walking to the train. I thought it would be dope to shoot a video for a song that Jay-Z Did with Khalil, in Brooklyn since Jay-Z didn’t…Here a couple of the screen shots from the day.

Here’s some footage of DJ Khalil and the homie Chace Infinite in the studio working on a joint called Verses which will be featured on their upcoming EP, Designer Music. And word is… Sean Price might (and should) be on the final version.

I decided to attack the beat Khalil did for 50 Cent feat. Akon I Still Kill. In classic Self Scientific fashion…instead of talking about the desire to kill someone, I talk about life and my attempts to understand the path Allah has laid. I used the ORIGINAL hook with the homie Kobe. You can tell Akon used the same melody and slightly re-wrote the words. You would have never heard it on the radio but, this is what it what have sounded like, as a Self Scientific song. Off the upcoming mixtap - I WOULD HAVE KILLED THIS - dropping next month.

Here goes a trailer for one of my most anticipated mixtapes of the year. Chace Infinite’s I Would Have Killer This. I’ve heard a crazy story surrounding the remix of Hostile Gospel pt.1 w/ Joell Ortiz & Blu. Now we get a story about pt.2. With this new leak off Chace Infinite’s I Would Have Killed This project.

Anyway,the story on this one is a little different. I didn’t do this particular joint first, if I remember right Khalil actually did this for Kweli. I am a fan of Steele Pulse and when I heard the beat Khalil told me Kweli was going to use it, I immediately began trying to get on the record. More so than any other artist Khalil works with I felt like I would have fit on this particular album and this particular song. Honestly I cant remember why it wasn’t used, but it wasn’t. I remember sending it to Kweli’s engineer but you know how shit goes…1 verse, no hook. The beat ended up being a song called Hostile Gospel pt.2.

Plus the teaser artwork (shown above). I jacked the demo version of the Shining font and kept the “demo version” stamp in the O, cause it actually fit the concept of the project. Killer! – Chace Infinite
