Sai sits down with Ms. Drama to talk about Warning Shots 2 (and The Greatest Story Never Told), his deal with Amalgam Digital, how he feels bad about Joe Budden (but still semi co-signing Slaughterhouse) and warns him to keep his girl out the strip club. Following the success of “Halfway House” and the much-anticipated “Padded Room,” Joe Budden and Amalgam Digital are excited to announce the release of “Escape Route”. The digital-only album will be made available exclusively on AmalgamDigital.com August 11th, 2009. “Escape Route” marks the third installment in Budden’s inspired saga sequence that has already brought fans such releases as “Halfway House” and “Padded Room,” and will culminate with the groundbreaking “The Great Escape.”

Escape Route aims to set a new precedent for Budden as he begins to map out his escape by enlisting guest appearances from Wale, Slaughterhouse, and Young Chris as well as production from 9th Wonder, Streetrunner, Chad West, and J. Cardim. When asked about his latest endeavor Budden had the following to say:

As everyone knows by now, Saigon inked a deal with Amalgam Digital. Who will be helping him release All in a Day’s Work (with Statik Selektah) which drops next week (hit the plantation for the tracklist); followed by Warning Shots 2. I’ve gotta say, for a digital label they sure aren’t too nifty with digital video. First the botched stream, and now a poorly lit and edited YouTube video? Naaahh….

This past weekend, it was announced that Saigon inked a deal with Joe Budden’s current label. The news sort of got pushed to the side as the Joe Budden x Boston shit was the hot topic of the weekend. Anyways, Sai released a statement talking about his deal and what it actually pertains to. Hit the jump…

okay okay okay…. Im sure by now you all heard rumors about me signing to Amalgam Digital and now youre gonna hear whats real from the horses mouth…. Did I sign a traditional recording deal with Amalgam Digital as an artist? The answer is NO.. At this stage of my life/career, I’m waaaay to smart and business saavy to enter a typical record deal with ANYONE. What I AM doing with Amalgam Digital is entering a unique, never been done before business venture where they help market promote and distribute some of my many projects.

First of all, Amalgam Digital is NOT a record company but a New Media outlet.. With the sales of CD’s rapidly declining, their NEW business motto was perfect for what Ive been trying to do and makes perfect sense with us moving into this totally digital era… They seen my creative vision, believe in my vision and we entered into a non-exclusive partnership that will bring it all to life….I am nobody’s artist. I am a businessman doing some very lucrative, serious business with a VERY credible New Media company who like myself is trying to stay ahead of the curve…So, there you have it so STOP sending me messages..PLEASE.

Now that thats clear, please look out for the first project through this venture called ‘All in A Days Work’ which will be released March 17th DIGITAL ONLY….. Its one of the best Hip Hop album’s in a while and was recorded in a 24hr period. It was also produced solely by Statik Selektah who came through correct. That will be followed shortly by the sequel to my classic disc ‘Warning Shots’ with’ Warning Shots 2′… From this point on, I will be releasing music in a very timely fashion without having to deal with the politricks of a clueless traditional record label.. The future is here ladies and gentlemen…. Get with it…….March 17th… ‘All In a Days Work’…..

So I’m lounging around the house, watching movies and relaxing. Gotta love that 2:30pm is the first time I hit the computer. Dope! First email I check is titled EDO.G bans JOE BUDDEN In Boston // SAIGON Signs With AMALGAM DIGITAL ??!? Interesting. Apparently Joe Budden disrespected Boston during a performance last Thursday. Peep the email blurb…

This past Thursday’s Joe Budden show in Boston almost ended with Joe Budden getting stomped by an angry mob of Boston goons. Edo. G, the show promoter, had to intervene to protect Budden from getting killed. JaySaun (of Special Teamz) is reportedly already hitting the lab to record a diss track to Budden – and everyone agrees – BUDDEN IS BANNED IN BOSTON! Edo. G Demands An Apology!

Now I wasn’t there, so who the fluck knows what really went down or how it went down. I really don’t know what to say. And that’s not even the end of the discussion topics. You saw Saigon’s name in the title. According to DJ Next, the Creative Director of Amalgam Digital, announced that they have signed Saigon. And they will be releasing 2 projects with him, including the All In A Day’s Work with Statik Selektah (which drops next week) and Warning Shots 2. What the flying fuck!?
