While we are flattered about the enthusiasm and heat The Freshman Class generates, this list did not come from XXL and was most likely created and leaked by someone in hopes of boosting their career.

I’d just like to point out, XXL doesn’t do groups as part of the list, and if anybody actually READ anymore, they’d notice Pac Div was already given a nod. I like how you can tell who’s from L.A./West Coast by their answers though! LOL! I appreciate that 3 of our rappers got nods, and I agree with most of the list, excepting this H-Twenty character NOBODY’s heard of, and Skyzoo, who despite that fact that he actually just did put out his DEBUT album (cop that, BTW, it’s crazy dope), I just CAN’T consider a freshman. The dude was on “Chitlin Circuit”, fer cryin’ out loud. There are a lot of viable MC’s, but I’d have to deny my locational bias and go with Chip the Ripper, and Donnis; based solely on the fact they both seem to be getting more shine outside of just blogs, and have the most potential OUTSIDE of just the blogs. However, they still get love ON the blogs, and I see them EVERYWHERE (mind you, I’m basing this on flyers I see, how many different sites they show up on, number of followers, etc.). Lyrically SKYZOO, XV, J.COLE, and FASHAWN are second to none.
H-TWENTY and JAY ROCK’s flow are both really aggressive and they have good wordplay.

I haven’t listened to too much NIPSEY and WIZ but what I have heard they both are talented but they seem like they’re are limited lyrically, maybe it’s just b/c I haven’t listened to them enough. I’m going to get some of their mixtapes.
And then there is NICKI MINAJ. Personally I think Nicki is clever with her lyrics I think she would get a lot more respect if she was solo. I understand how her delivery could get old to some individuals but it really doesn’t bother me.

as I stated before, the list looked too ridiculous to be considered genuine. The level of talent that J.Cole is heads and shoulders over the nearest guy – Big Sean. Everyone else has the talent level of dog shit with no credibility or track record.
Skyzoo lyrically has them all beat and wasnt even mentioned. J Electronica needs to release a EP at least to be considered even good. That lacklustre mixtape doesnt count.
