This record is dope. He could have included this in the original, but it’s all good nevertheless.

@ Lito & Tellmemane
even tho i think the album is mostly great, i’d argue that it’s puely the label’s fault. wale had pretty girls and chillin’ with out their bullshit features, but the features are there on the album. and he’s said openly that he doesn’t like certain features on his album.
my guess is his next album will be more in his control. the fact that there are songs LIKE family affair, center of attention, penthouse anthem, ice and rain and my sweetie are proof that this guy still has artistic integrity.
@Just ..absolutely
I thought the album was dope— its still in rotation
Yeah. The album is dope to me as well. I can agree as a Wale fan, it’s like I feel like it’s dope, but not cartwheel dope, (like I don’t do cartwheels when hearing it [I'd probably cause an earthquake anyways], but it’s like I really can’t find anything BAD to say about it…so it’s a weird feeling.
Plus, as I continue to listen to it and learn the songs, I seem to like it more and more every time. I don’t think I’ve ever had this feeling where I wasn’t GIGGITY over an album, but I also can’t stop listening to it.
Maybe this is what you call the epitome of DOPE.
justice leauge and the olympicks should produce the rest of the albums from now on for musicians
thx shake been waitin on this. AD is a dope album
this dope glad u posted this, DMV STAND UP! Go support
yo wale really sucks
Family Affair, is his dopest song to me honestly. I luv his material that he has for real. He’s lyrical, has great content, and tha production overall is great real talk. I haven’t heard tha whole album but tha songs that I gave a listen to, are fuckin’ sick
And these joints that didn’t make tha cut is sad but still great muzik nonetheless, 100!!!
who has that artistic integrity pt. 2? anyoneeeeee?
All we got so far was a snippet of “OG”…
I mean a radio rip of OG
@tronic center of attention is artistic integrity pt.2
I co-sign Mike Dreams. This album is DOPE, if u actually listen to it i dont kno how u can say otherwise. but if the label didnt try controllin it so much i think it could of been flawless. And funny thing is, label fucked themselves up even MORE by undershippin the album, they only shipped 30K and enuff ppl were goin to stores and it wus sold out so they lost ENUFF sales… all went to itunes (he wus no.2 just under 50’s album in all genres)
ah well… at least the album is out there and hes finally gettin some respect
I went to Best Buy & Target to cop it when it dropped but neither location carried the album… So I was kinda pissed that I had to call a few different places to see if it was available to purchase. It was worth the hassle though
@ Ryan T. I know rite? That was kinda disheartening, I went to like 3 different Target stores and NONE of them had the album in stores. Label fuckery indeed
apparently they restocked at best buy and target today…
The label is afraid of what wale is doing right now. To them, they’re taking a big risk by deviating from whats popular right now. I believe that with proper marketing, they can make wale a star. They already did him justice by giving him high profile features and notice that every beat from his album was contributed by someone significant in the music world (save for UBC) so they have some sort of confidence in him. They’re just waiting to see how many albums he can push and hopefully they will begin to increase his profile.
R and Stanlee make great points about label interference. I thought that this a very good album that could’ve done without a couple of the features (hook are okay btw). My other two favorite hip-hop [debut] albums by Skyzoo and Fashawn had very little or no features at all. Granted, they weren’t as high profile, but I would have liked to hear more verses from the guy that I paid to listen to. I like J. Cole, Skateboard P, and Bun B, but I could have done without them. Wale has shown us that he’s more than capable of holding his own without anyone’s help. I’m proud of this guy from my area and glad that the album’s F-I-N-A-L-L-Y out.
Dope!
I don’t I think Wale is average, and that beat “Mama Told Me” on his album is a rip from Dr.Dre’s “Shit Popped Off”. Do your research.
