Lupe is probably the illest MC in the game right now. But keep in mind the list was for “2009″….when is the last time he has dropped something commercially relevant? MTV is a product of mainstream radio and music videos- and Lupe doesn’t fit into that mold. Plus, his single didn’t do commercially well and still hasn’t dropped “We Are Lasers”…sooooo in the respect of saying “Hottest MC’s of 2009″ and not just “Hottest MC’s” in general, then I think MTV almost makes sense.
