And anyone STILL complaining about there only being one new song on the EP really has no clue how the industry works. This is exactly why the artist who only cater to underground/internet fans stay losing.
I had this convo with some people I “work with” a few months back when “So Far Gone” hit iTunes. They didn’t see the point. “Best I Ever Had” was also released for free and it still demolished the charts.
The people who actually BUY music aren’y on the net. They listen to the radio and watch MTV and BET. So when new music drop they don’t go to the net to find it they go to iTunes.
Best advice I could ever give an artist who wants to be big in this game is to follow their heart and don’t try to cater to the so called”Hip Hop Purists” and internet commenters cuz they’re so irrelevant in the large scheme of things.
I don’t know about everyone else but I enjoy a good SONG. 80 bar verses re cool but they get real old quick. Gotta know how to balance the two.

Now this is the track that I first started listening to. This sounds like 2006/2007 Room For Improvement/Comeback Season Drake. I really hope there’s a lot more of there style records on the album. Even though I’ve been a big fan no matter what, I would be lying if I didn’t say that back in ‘06 and ‘07, in his pre-Lil Wayne days was when Drake was at his best. This feels like he is back to that time when he was messing with Phonte and them. Best Drake. Keep this up.

Yeah. People saying “Drake’s buzz is dying” should Heath Ledger themselves. And not even because it’s so much that Drake is the GREATEST, but if you have eyes and common sense, you’d see he’s still the biggest thing in the game right now. All these artists’ getting him on features, etc. Last week, Best I Ever Had, Successful and Every Girl were the Number 1, 2, and 3 spots on the Billboard Charts.
What other artist has a 6 minute song like “Successful” that they play ALL THE WAY through until Wayne’s part on the radio.
Now not liking an artist is one thing, but when you see the truth of what a person is doing and you try to deny it still just because you don’t like them, that’s called hating.
And if you just listened to even just this snippet and are still acting like teen girls are his only market, once again, you should fall back and reanalyze the validity of how you perceive obvious things.
