I’ll let him defend himself tell you…
I also want people to know that I am only releasing this EP so that everyone involved in the project can hold a physical copy of the CD in their hands and see it in the store. And for anybody else who feels that So Far Gone marked a moment in time I just wanted to give you the option to have the disc. If you got it for free and want to keep it that way than by all means I urge you too. That was a gift from me to you…Thank Me Later.
Read the entire blog entry over at OctobersVeryOwn. Now can you* please get over it? Is it that big of a deal to you? I mean… if you aren’t gonna cop, then don’t. You yappin’ about how dumb the release is doesn’t change anything.
*mu’fuckas that find every single solitary reason to hate on the next man because he’s making progress in this game we call hip hop life.

yea. what kind of dumb niggas have opinions? *reminisces on the good old days before the internet when radio/labels put on/out anything and it didnt matter what the fans think*
yup….
That EP is clearly a ploy to make a quick buck off anyone who heard that one retarded Drake single on the radio and wanted to hear more retardation.
Get off his nuts, internet.
Here’S why people might have a problem with Drake
http://robotsnrockets.blogspot.com/2009/08/drake.html
I think it’s legitimate to have a problem with Drakes eroding brand.
You can chalk it off as rookie mistakes, but his team are a bunch of seasoned veterans.
im a drake fan. but why buy half the ep when i can download the full version for free. drake need better marketing
cmon now…releasing a half assed “ep version” of a free album to make a quick buck is a random act of fuckery…call a spade a spade…
you guys do realize that there is a huge fanbase that just knows drake from “best i ever had” and “successful” being played on the radio and tv right? this just gives them something to grab in stores while we (the internet fanbase) can wait for the album. people take things far too serious these days. relax… have sex. smoke something…
he doing it to make cash. point blank. not a drake fan but i aint gonna knock his hustle. soccer moms gonna buy it for they kids..

——you posted a link of your blog with your own feelings, yet you have no comments therefore no one reads your shit, you were better off to post your comment about it here, what you posted in your blog is basically addressed in drakes little blurb—
“im a drake fan. but why buy half the ep when i can download the full version for free. drake need better marketing

then your not a drake fan, cause you would support him, and you clearly don’t understand marketing at all
fuck there is stupid people in the world
I think some of the people always on the blogs, commenting on everything need to take a step back and realize not everybody checks out hip hop blogs and is up on everything like some of us are. Stop complaining…shit.
it’s not that serious, we’re just having a discussion right?
if you could put some numbers up that say the internet fan base is really that much different than his radio & tv fan base, i’d be inclined to believe you but i don’t think so
http://www.datpiff.com/Drake_So_Far_Gone.m34130.html
check that out..that’s just one website whose fan base would be exposed to the radio/tv outlets the most. people aren’t that computer illiterate. they know where to go for music. and it isn’t in a store and it doesn’t require cash.
@ Clif Soulo
Exactly. Drake is releasing it so he reaches a larger bases of fans, especially those who actually BUY their music and to those who get all their music on iTunes. They prob won’t be hip to hip hop blogs and getting music on iTunes and Rhapsody and other services as well as stores is the only way to reach these potential fans. It’s smart, it’s logical, keep it moving.

everyone in this world thinks so damn different and have opposite personal preferences. im all for that people thinking differently so people need to stop catching feelings on this site when someone states an opinion about your favorite rapper. everyone’s ears are different and will hear that shit another way from you most of the time. you sensitive fucks call it hate. logical people call it opinion.
I like Drake and don’t care what you kids think..the dude can rap & sing. I’ll cop this even though it does seem like he is only doin’ it for some $$$ but fuck it, i got the bills.
Whoopdee F(l)uckin’ Dee.
I* wouldn’t have addressed it due the fact that I wouldn’t give a f(l)uck since I know folk are going to buy it. Now, although I voiced that this is stupid, I, like everyone else is a walking/typing contradiction, so it’s whatever.
Although I still stick to the fact that it seems like he’s more so; abandoning the internet crowd which put his ass on. F(l)uck a pause.
* a mauh’fugga who is starting to just ignore Rappers lives & business choices as a whole.
i dont understand why posts like this get so many comments…yall are gay as hell
2 Hit Wonder
“2 hit wonder” hahahhah
He better put that ish in the stores because the way the internet community treated Slaughterhouse at retail last week…he gonna have to abandon his soldiers on the net…cause yall mofos don’t buy records.
Do you Drake.
So is this gonna be the whole mixtape in a few weeks or certain songs???
“He better put that ish in the stores because the way the internet community treated Slaughterhouse at retail last week…he gonna have to abandon his soldiers on the net…cause yall mofos don’t buy records.”
C/S. The Slaughterhouse shit is off topic, but I gotta comment on it anyway. Granted, given their solo track record, they’ve never really sold astounding numbers anyway. But I held off from downloading it, purchased the physical copy of Amazon, hoping others would follow suit. Listened to it, loved the cd.
Then, yesterday, I see that they sold negative zero copies.
Well not really, but damnit, It seems like more people downloaded the shit than actually bought it.
These internet fans are not reliable.
…Then again, people are saying they couldn’t find it at stores and shit. And none of Slaughterhouse are really household names, so maybe I expected too much.
Pardon my off-topic rant, I had to get that shit off my shoulders.
i think drake is kinda wack
cool photo though
lol @ this

Did someone actually type the words, “fuck there is stupid people in the world?”
Couldn’t have said it better myself…
PS: Drake huffs.
@ critical’s quote: “he’s abandoning the internet crowd which put his ass on”
*rant in 3-2-1…
umm how so? dude never changed… he’s still rappin bout the same subject matter from comeback season (success, sex, money, love, etc.) only now he’s more popular and now he’s gonna try and make $$$ off of his hardwork. people forget that his job is to make music. and like everyone else with a job, he’s workin to get paid. only bum-ass people and up and comers work for free. why all these crab-in-a-barrel internet fans get so upset with someone tryna advance his life is beyond me. what is it to y’all if he markets mainstream? y’all dont support artists anyway… always bootleggin online. y’all get music regardless if they try to sell it
drake sold his soul, do your research
I dont understand, If you dont like DRAKE dont click on the links. If you click on the links, and you dont like drake, and you leave a negative comment you are OFFICIALLY hating…simple and plain dont click on the links if you dont like’em nuff said
I have people asking me all the time to make mixes of Drake’s stuff since all they know is “Best I Ever Had” …
There are tons of people that don’t dl mixtapes everyday and check hip hop blogs. If they only heard two tracks from the mixtape because they were on radio, and then his features on Wayne songs, they’d probably buy this.
Hell, I’m not knocking anyone trying to make money. Not like he’s saying you’re not a true fan if you don’t buy it.
It’s funny to know how fired up some people get over these things.
Drakes put out free music thus far – that is better than most people have put out in their careers – he blew up, and wants to reap the benefits – who wouldn’t??? If any one of you say that you wouldn’t do the exact same thing – U LIE! Dude has been grinding for YEARS! Stop hating…
Y’all pussy find a reason to cry and complain. Pathetic! Can’t wait for someone to kill your dreams and moves. Nit pickin on a simple EP release is so elementary! I wouldn’t even complain about that to an artist I didn’t like.
I’d shrug my shoulder and say “ok he’s doing an EP! Next!” No but you niggas complain about this small miniture move. Geeess!!
How dare an artist try to earn money and sell music! That is so lame especially old music! How dare Drake! *sarcasm*
Like artists dont release compilation albums of old songs they recorded or re-release mixtapes or old albums! No no no! Damn him (lol)!
As an artist, i aint feeling his shyt at all. PERIOD. As an individual who tryna make a living off this music bizz, i can understand that. But what’s all the hype bout?
When i hear the lyrics on “The Best I Ever Had”, i couldnt stop shaking my head and laughing.. Is that what hip hop and this so called mainstream music is heading? YEA RITE… GO AHEAD.. congratulate the next man while destroying the next generation!
You support it cuz u are riding on this so-called “music industry” system’s nut which care less bout half the shyts that come out as long as they can generate huge pay cheques. And u prolly get part of the cheese for promoting too, NICE WORK!
“if your record aint shit, f*ck the record you sold/ if it went platinum, it’s got nothing to do with luck/ it just means that a million muhfuckaz are stupid as f*ck” – Immortal Techniques’ “Industrial Revolution”.
Kudos for the tastemakers who keep dumbing down the next generation!
I actually say he should have done like Danger Mouse…since he couldn’t get those sample clearances. Release the full tape with artwork and all that for retail, but leave the disc blank as a CD-R and the fans can just burn the mixtape to that CD. If you think it sounds dumb…I’m getting the idea from what Danger Mouse did with his last CD when he couldn’t clear samples. I think that would be a clever idea, especially since we already have the free download.
I hope someone from his camp reads this and take it into consideration.
Because he could probably sell a blank disc. The EP is only 7 tracks (mixtape is 17)…

Immortal Techniques
^^^^
Oh yeh the Overrated, Angry, 1 Dimensional rapper that can’t make consistant good music wether it be street, political, life, introspective, or soulful songs… the cat that couldn’t make a doll nod it’s head to his music with his own hands.
Yeh for Immortal Technique dog come on now! I listened to him then and now, he’s just a conspiracy theorist rapping!
trust me Shake, I get what you’re saying. but let’s say someone dug the entire So Far Gone project, and would’ve paid for the entire mixtape. They can’t even do that, the way the put this out. And not only that, it looks suspect b/c its ONLY the joints that got the most spins, which makes perfect sense from an industry standpoint (no brainer, really), but the “you get to own the physical copy” shit only makes sense if you are giving the public the full project, not a seven track EP.
ic what the people who run the site say
i think its dumb as fuck to put out half of a fuckin free mixtape for sale
i dont care what the people who run the site say
i think its dumb as fuck to put out half of a fuckin free mixtape for sale
then don’t fucking buy it Khal and stay fucking mad. he don’t give two shits if you buy his EP. god mother fuckers are retarded. mother fuckers release eps all the time. people release compilations of old ass songs everyones heard. its about making a dollar. he put his work in on sfg. let him get paid. fall back haters
@derrik – grow up, when did I say I was mad? Hell, when did I say I was going to buy the EP? I can’t act like I agree with Drake’s reasoning on this one, though. Releasing compilations of old music is all well and good – but what you’re saying (”its about making a dollar”) and what Drake is saying (”I also want people to know that I am only releasing this EP so that everyone involved in the project can hold a physical copy of the CD in their hands and see it in the store. And for anybody else who feels that So Far Gone marked a moment in time I just wanted to give you the option to have the disc.”) are two different things.
When is this Drake guy gonna leave I’m sick of this, its bullshit
Very surprised nobody says very simple, albeit “old school” things like “If you think Drake is whack then do better”. Easy for clowns to hate on somebody on a blog but to all the haters, where the *F is your EP? Not saying you can’t have an opinion but reckless, non-constructive, chatter shows no basis for your opinion…by the way I’ve peeped some of u haters MySpace pages…Keep ur day-jobs SMH’s!
it’s the same idea charles hamilton had with releasing this perfect life for free and then in stores lol, now chuck is in hiding somewhere
buzz so big he can prolly sell a blank disc?
Why don’t he just release a album… we’re all sick of So Far Gone…
(I know you guys are probably wondering why my icon is the album cover, lol. I’m sick of him for the moment, until this dude gets a clue)
Yo, why was it to be the whole mixtape then all of a sudden 7 songs??? Fuck that shit. I was gonna buy the whole thing but saw how many songs was on it. Fail on Drake’s part.
hate hate hate…..Hate, hate, hatehate, …..hate hate hate! Hate? Hate.
Drake??? Oh hate! Hate, did someone say drake?? Hate. Did 2dopeboyz post something I don’t like??? Hate!!
Someone is wrong on the internets!!! HATE!! They must die! I gotta let them know how dumb they are!!
This shit will be flying off the shelves faster than Lil Wayne’s The Leak EP
Has anybody checked out Invincible – Emperor’s Clothes? Shake posted it yesterday.
drake feelings be getting hurt over the c-section…haha… he always has to explain hmiself. fuck us. you dont got to explain shit to us. we might not agree, but we still going to listen, and spread the word…it’s nice that he’s so considerate, but no matter what you say, people are going to hate. the constructive criticism people are still going to provide that, the stans are going to ride, the fans are going to cheer, and money will still be made. do what you do homie.
and release so far gone as a special edition for thank me later too… that was a good ass idea someone had.
2 HIT WONDER
I’m yapping about why he releasing it cause I feel like it.
Just like you feeling like you not defending the dude or on his dick but you is by saying that.
Everyone has their own opinions. I see he’s making an excuse cause all of a sudden he’s hyped up he wants to make money off the cd. Then later on brag how he sold more albums of a free release than most dudes.
Aight without our opinion you wouldn’t have no one reading your shit so STFU ABOUT PEOPLE COMPLAINING.
hello

Very educated indeed.I’m kidding you tool.
It’s crazy to see all you niggas that hate try to disguise your selfs! Do y’all actually sit back and look at your screen and read the shit you say… nothing y’all sayin makes sense! It’s an EP and he’s releasing an EP of compilation of songs off a popular mixtape. That means he’s hurting himself… lol really…promoting good music, earning a buck and giving you’re fans a physical copy is a bad career move… lol Ain’t that big a deal. Move on man stop the negativity y’all niggas are relentless with it Jesus!
y’all niggas should be A&R’s lmfao Hell y’all should start a label “4 Inches Off The Ground Records”
LOL at you fucking retards. Quit hating and K.I.M.
Lets break it down…
17 tracks MINUS
- Outro
- Omarion Interlude
- Unstoppable (which is a SANTO GOLD original)
- Little Bit (which is a LYKKE LI original)
- Ignant Shit (Jay-Z beat)
- Say Whats Real (Kanye beat)
Leaves us with 11 tracks, they call it an EP for a reason.
Yeah I get why some people have hostility toward drake for releasing an ep of his mixtape. I hear people saying y should I buy it when I can get it for free? I have no answer for this but I am a drake fan and probably will allways be a drake fan. The man has a plan to get you to buy thank me later and you can’t blame him for that. I think he should have put dome unrealeased songs on the ep such as the winner or juice. I am glad he put 2 new songs on it and I love them both. I will stick with drake’s music because it’s real and there isn’t a lot of real hip hop today.
So drake Im speaking for all real hip hop fans whrn i say thank you now.
