If people looked at it optimistically though…it was kind of a homage move by CH by saying Dilla was executive producer of the album. Now I’m not sure what his motives really were, but if it was solely because he was highly influenced by Dilla and you look at it sort of through an inspiration thing…like the entire career of Dilla and his legacy directly influenced the CH project, therefore serving as an Executive Producer from a spiritual standpoint, it kind of wasn’t that bad. But if it was solely for promotional gain (in which I can’t see being totally true from a passionate dude like Charles Hamilton), then that would have been wrong.
No one really knows all the details though, so I guess we really can’t make an accurate evaluation of the situation.

Well, it’s also because they both have large ego and big mouths and they cross people who also have large egos and sometimes just as big mouths.
CH fucked up with the dilla thing. End of story. He could’ve just made a note of it in the notes or paid homage to him on the cover or created a charity on his behalf but he didn’t. He takes the L. No other way of spinning it. But, his ego was there so he defends his stupid action against people who was down with Dilla which is even more ludicrous.
Budden on the other hand talks a lot of shit, most of the time I agree with him because he’s rather logical. The vibe shit was blow out of porportion but it could’ve been over any time if he said fuck it like he did with Ransom. Point is he’s got an ego and that’s one of the major reasons he CONSISTENTLY finds himself in shit.
