Ill start by saying Just Blaze is (or at least used to be) one of my favorite producers, BUT personally I think anybody who pays a couple grand for a beat/verses JUST because it has a big name attached to it. I mean, shit, the only time I’d actually pay for a beat is if it’s one that I really want/it’s incredibly well put together, but until then I’d rather produce my own shit, which saves me money, makes the beats fit like a glove, and broadens my skill set.
Personally I know/know of plenty producers who make shit at the same caliber or better than a lot of these “big name” producers and they do it for next to nothing, because of the love of hip hop.
