The Slaughterhouse machine weigh in on MTV’s Hottest MCs list.
“I can’t front — the young boy Drake is spitting,” Joell Ortiz said. “I’m interested in seeing where he goes with his career. Just aside from singing, the dude can rap. I wanna see what he does too. Bun B too. Shout-out to Bun B.”
Joe Budden was less forthcoming when talking about who he thought was superior on the mic.
“These n—as that’s dope, they don’t need the sh– to be confirmed,” he said. “They don’t need my confirmation. They know they’re dope. Stay in your lane. … I ain’t shouting nobody out. It’s dope n—as out there. We’re dope. It’s other dope n—as out there. I ain’t shouting n—as out though.”
Joe eventually changed his mind, picking the same two guys Crooked I had mentioned just a few minutes before him: Eminem and Jay-Z.
“Jay and Em is still at the top, and that’s it. Everybody else is trying to reach out. I love Blu. Blu, and I still love [Kool] G Rap. It’s a million n—as to name. Jay right now, at his age, is still better than n—as. But when you write that hottest list, you’re not gonna put Jay and Em at 1 and 2. You’re not. Don’t lie to me and say you are. Don’t insult my intelligence. In 2009, you’re not gonna put Jay and Em 1 and 2 on your list. You can bet me money.
“I like T.I., Fabolous, I just like dudes who can spit,” Joe added. “I didn’t look for too much else.”
Obviously this is outside of Joey’s vlogs (shown after the jump) about Raekwon and the fuckery that is boring me more and more as each day passes. Whatever the case may be though… the Slaughterhouse album is in stores (and on iTunes) today. As well as Joey’s Escape Route. I’ll be picking up my copy before I catch them at the House of Blues tonight.
And hell, while were at it… Inspectah Deck’s carriers dropped a new diss. *yawn…
This record was recorded right after Joe said his two cents about Inspectah Deck. As you know Fes Taylor is Inspectah Deck’s man and protege. Fes Taylor has been affiliated with the Wu since the 90’s. Anyway the story goes, that it was put on hold because it might have made the situation even more tense at the time. In other words, this was going to be in the hidden vaults forever. However, after Joe Budden’s latest BlogTV show, the song is being released. Please keep in mind, Wu-Tang is family at the end of the way. Somebody will make it their business to state how they feel. That is just how family works. I think Joe needs “hottest” explained to him. Hot has little to do with greatness. For example Gucci Mane better be on that top 10 but even the niggas that love Gucci know he isn’t “great”.

Here’s what my list would be:
1. Drake- labels fighting to sign him, hottest song on radio, universally acclaimed mixtape, numerous cosigns from the game’s heavyweights
2. Lil Wayne- headlining one of summer’s hottest tours, CEO of hottest rap label out now, signed Drake, still everywhere
3. Gucci Mane- hate him or love him, he’s got a lot of mixtapes out now, as well as Internet buzz and guest appearances on other artists’ songs
4. Jay-Z- still a successful enterpeneur, which couples with his recent return to hip hop and DOA has people talkin.
5. Eminem- one of the top selling artists of the year with Relapse, as well as his “beef” with Mariah.
6. OJ da Juiceman- same reason as Gucci Mane, to a lesser extent.
7. 50 Cent- mixtapes, another successful entrepeneur and his beef with Rick Ross, which has died down a bit, otherwise he’d be higher up.
8. All the members of Slaughterhouse- Internet buzz and lyrical skill, plus their album JUST dropped.
9. Kanye West- numerous features, bested Jay-Z, has a hot girlfriend and rumored to be the reason behind the breakup of Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush.
10. Fabolous- #1 album right now, and his 1st ever. Also it’s a good album.
If Gucci’s on the list… something is very wrong with the world
