Michael Jackson: Remix Suite 1

For those following my every word (or those that check my Twitter every now and then) should know I’ve been traveling around like a madman and have been battling for internet connections. Anyways… there’s a few things I gotta get up before I lose connection (again). Anyways, here goes the first installment of Motown’s Michael Jackson: Remix Suite; in which Universal Motown grabbed some producers to remix 20 MJ/5 Jackson 5 cuts. All praise Splash Jackson for the links…

  1. thnx it should be crazy

  2. Polow and Neptunes joints were not good at all. Austins joint was dissapointing, ABC was OK.. the Sky writer shit was hot though… Props to Stargate. The rest.. Fail

Dissapointed these producers didnt take this more seriously and bring the A-Game

  3. I don’t know if it’s that they failed. I think it’s just really hard to remix MJ/J5 songs because they’re so classic and have that untouchable/unchangeable status. Most of these weren’t that bad compared to when MJ first passed, but they take away from the song and singing than adding something different.

  4. i havent listened. it is hard to to touch the classic level of an mj/j5 track. however kanye has done it a few times. and that never can say goodbye from the beatnik has left me wanting more for like eight months now… meaning it can be done, if someone where to really try.

  5. With that said, I thought the Polow Da Don had a nice lil vibe to it.

  6. I’m Not Tryna Offend Anyone But…… It’s A Remix Album 4 The King Of Pop (& J5) People! None Of The Remixes To These (Classic) Mj/J5 Songs Are Gonna Be Phenomenal! And Hell Most Of The Producers Probably Did The Shit 4 Free Or Damn Near Close 2 It. Yeah They Have (SOME) Big Name Producers Doing The Remixes, But That Doesn’t Mean That It’s Gonna Be As Good Or Better Than The Original’s, Even Though We Expect Highly Of Them. So Stop Gettin’ Your Hopes Up So High To Hear One Of These Producers Make A Remix Better Than Or Close To A Classic Jackson Song, And Just Enjoy How These Producers Show Their Gratitude And Respect For A Legend Gone Waaaaaaaay 2 Soon. Even Though Alot Of Their Remixes Are Gonna Be Weak As Hell, And That’z The Main Reason We Are Downloading The Songz And Not Paying 4 Them In The 1st Place, LoL. Oh And Also…… PHARRELL’S REMIX GOES HARD!

  8. I agree with Wonderin…the Beatnik/K-Saalam Never Can Say Goodbye is the dopest remix I have heard lately.

With that said, it’s wise to take these remixes for what they are…remixes!

No one can touch classic material and make it classic again. I just can’t wait until some unreleased MJ comes out, then we can start measuring the King by the King.
