Are you serious or are you joking? If so Jaz-O was Jay-Z’s mentor that he left behind. Jaz-O was “on” before Jay-Z was in the early ’90’s (maybe even the late 80’s). Jaz-O put Jay-Z on to a lot of his songs and industry connects. He gave him his 1st shine.

Not to mention that’s how Shawn Carter got his name, “Jay” “Z” vs “Jaz” “O” Some people would say the way the flowed back then was kind of jazzy (referring to jazz music because they used to spit fast but it had a melody to it) thus the name Jaz-O then Jay-Z followed suit and made his own twist like Jaz-O did and named himself Jay-Z.

When Jay-Z dropped the “Hard Knock Life” album he put Jaz-O on a song “Jigga What” Eventually when Jaz-O decided he wanted to do a album Hov didn’t sign Jaz-O to Rocafella or help Jaz-O out on the album. He featured on 1 song. Jay-Z didn’t show up to a video shoot to the song that Jay-O did with him. Ever since then theres been disputes of loyality issues between Jay-Z and Jaz-O.
