Alright, one more track before I’m off. I’ve been meaning to post stuff on the 5 O’Clock Shadowboxers for quite sometime; but kept forgetting. So what better way to start then by dropping the first single off their upcoming album, The Slow Twilight, dropping June 23rd on Beat Garden Entertainment.
5 0′Clock Shadowboxers is comprised of South Philly bred Zilla and producer Douglas Martin, who have created an interesting concept piece in their album, The Slow Twilight. Built from fusing samples from the NY noir flick Black of Silence, as well as meshing unique and sometimes nontraditional sample sources from the likes of Elliott Smith, Cat Power, Radiohead, etc; both Zilla and Martin create a front to end album that surely will captivate audiences for fans of Atmosphere, Aesop Rock, and others without some of the pitfalls and shortcomings those artists sometimes face.
