Congrats to Mickey and J.Cole. When i hear news like this I get excited just like everybody else but the doubt also sets in. To many talented up and comers get signed but nothing every materializes. Not trying to be negative, just stating what the past has shown us. Hopefully, times are changing and we actually get the music and these artist can have successful careers

props because he’s a ny cat, props because he works hard (mixtapes, commercial etc) but this is just them (the industry who are yrs behind the streets) feeling like they needing to make a move and sign a new person (no disrespect to mick whos a very talented dude). this is the 1st time EVER that nobody really knows where the future of hip hop is headed. the industry has an identity crisis right now esp NY! (where i’m from). how many times can you talk about your peanut butter range with the jelly guts? or being the biggest powder pusher in the world? fans became bored so dudes like mick ( dope mc, gold supras, says eeeeeeeeeiiiiiiyyyyy!!!!, rolls around on stage… yeah that guy!) wale (not a fan, neither is half of dc but respect him as well), asher roth (dope!) got light and now are getting signed. i personally think these guys would be good with the internet buzz, doing shows by themselves etc because the industry doesn’t know how to market everyone (so pimp them before they pimp you!). I just wish all yall the best. fuck the critics (even me!) we just have high expectations because we heard big, pac, jay, nas, dre 3000, pun, etc do their thing now its up to yall to step it up…in the name of hip hop!
