Brother Ali’s The Truth Is Here EP…

…should be nothing short of fucking dope! I don’t normally make posts just talking about upcoming projects and whatnot but I felt the need with this one. Hell, anything Rhymesayers related should get posts like this (*takes note). It’s hard to believe it’s already been 2 years since Brother Ali dropped The Undisputed Truth (if you don’t have this in your collection you took a huge L). This Fall Ali & Ant are releasing the follow up entitled Street Preacher.

Before that though Ali is releasing an EP and full-length DVD that will include 9 tracks; featuring 2 b-sides and 7 new and previously unreleased songs including The Believer, a collaboration with Slug (of Atmosphere). The DVD features Brother Ali’s sold out homecoming performance during The Undisputed Truth Tour at Fifth Avenue nightclub in Minneapolis; as well as interviews, special commentary and a few music videos. It should defintely give ya’ll a taste of what the man can do on stage. I still advise you to take your ass to a show and witness it live if you haven’t already (hell, even if you have… do it again). For more information, hit up Rhymesayers’ official site.

You can pre-order The Truth Is Here EP now over at FifthElement. And doing so you get a few goodies as usual. Truth Is here sticker and a limited edition poster with lyrics on the reverse side. Both can be seen after the jump (obviously in digital form ha).

  5. Do you all remember how mad u were when the Bar Exam II didn’t drop when it was promised? And all that shit everyone was sayin’ when it was late? It was out of Royce’s hands…He did what he had 2 do to make sure the music was quality, and when you got it, wasn’t it? Same thing with Drake. it’s 3:27 where I am but i’m not bitchin, because i’m an artist myself. But it doesn’t take an artist to exercise patience…

  23. [...] Brother Ali was the latest guest on the Making Music segment, put on by the University of Minnesota’s Whole Music Club. I remember seeing P.O.S., Dessa, Slug, etc on there in the past). A really cool conversation with the Brother in my opinion. He speaks on his early days of writing and inspirations, his relationships with Slug & Ant, touring with Rakim and more. All of which can be seen after the jump. Above is a clip of him (casually) performing Good Lord, which will be found on his upcoming The Truth Is Here EP. [...]

I listened to it for the first time ever tonight, and im now on my 3rd time in 4 hours…. and man.. WHAT THE ****??? How do i listen to the greats of past (Tribe/De La/WU/etc.), studs of today (Blu/Shad/MURS/Roots/etc.) and everything in between .. and never hear Brother Ali???!! ridiculous. He is soooooo nice. Digging it in a major way. Looking forward to checking out his work… any suggestions?
