What the fuck is going on? New Year’s wasn’t much of a celebration for a few familes. Oscar Grant’s murder in Oakland and now I get word of this shooting? In New Orleans, Adolph Grimes III was shot 14 times by police including 12 in the back. Grimes has no criminal record and was a Brother Martin High School graduate. The report is saying police state that Grimes shot first and they’re trained to return fire in such a situation (which I agree). But whose to say it’s true? Nothing is on tape like Oscar Grant. We’ll see where it goes… and maybe something has developed as I don’t have the chance to do full research.

Hey shake man…. Im from new orleans and they do have this on tape…its on police dash cam but hey haven’t released it to the public yet. This has happened before when they killed an unarmed black man during hurricane katrina. This shit doesn’t surprise me at all. The cops end up getting paid administrative leave until shit dies down …. and then they come back to work like nothing happens.

Yeah, I used the term cracka when some cops who’ve comitted atrocities in the past have been black but I don’t see cops as being Us or for us based on my own (thankfully far more minor) experience. That guy in the video was a spokesmen anyway and NOPD are notoriously corrupt so it doesn’t matter whether they were black or white. Two of the cops who killed Sean Bell were black anyway. We can wait and see how this plays out but I’m never gonna give cops the benefit of the doubt in these incidents and I’ll be SHOCKED if it turns out the cop weren’t at fault. Columbia is spot-on…graduating high school is very easy so no sympathy there…and can’t the black man be guilty for once my god, whenever cops kill a black person the blame goes right to the cops and it gets a little ridiculous.

Brendan and Columbia have no more weight to their statements than the rest of you do…until all of the evidence comes out, nothing anyone says can be justified as correct or incorrect. As for my personal opinion, being shot 12 times does seem a little much, but again we can’t immediately support the victim just because it was an alleged “race crime” by the cops…basically what I’m saying is, the victim could have been an innocent victim, or he truly could have been the instigator.

If people/cops surrounded my car my personal reaction would not be retaliation…I would take a safer route and throw my hands up
old.sole – my home is in the south, i personally many police officers and can tell you their hourly wage. cops get paid by the hour, they’re able to work overtime and extra duty…

The police claim he shot first (or ‘acted like he was Rambo’ as you ‘impartially’ put it) and that there was ‘police action’ in the area, but there’s no record of any shootings in the area, they haven’t produced the dash cam video supporting the he-shot-first claim or the supposed extra shotgun he had in the trunk of his car (however that’s supposed to factor into what happened here). Basically they have offered nothing justifying THEIR barbaric actions or any proof so far that this guy was a criminal or had committed the kinds of action that led to them needing to shoot him to death (in the back) so far. This is the third case of a police shooting or killing of a black man just this week, never mind historically yet YOU automatically assume the victim is at fault and look at everyone else on this thread sideways like we’re crazy for calling BS on this??! GTFOH.

most of you dont know cuz it wasnt in the states but last summer it happened it MTL too. police shot an unarmed kid to death for no aparent reason. the next day there was riots and people lit cop cars on fire and actually attacked the riot control officers
