Rosenberg Round Table (Video)

Pete Rosenberg holds a discussion about Busta Rhymes’ “Arab Money” with a few rappers of Middle Eastern descent. How does everyone else feel about the song? Is it racist, offensive, etc etc? I just think it stinks to high hell, personally. Props to the BoBO.

  1. racist? no.
offensive? yes, only because he pronounced it wrong.
this big of a deal? hell no.
only time any middle eastern rappers ever had any voice in anything? yes.

  2. Its nor racist/offensive, just the pronunciation of “arab” is incorrect. No need to get bent out of shape, not like Busta’s disregarding their religion or anything; its just a song.

  3. Atl says:

only time any middle eastern rappers ever had any voice in anything? yes.

    Do your history homie

Black people would be nothing without arabs. yes

We contributed the most to mathematics, science, religion, etc. yes

Go figure out how to build a pyramid then come holla at me

    My opinion

    Arab Money = garbage

Fuck T-Pain for that line by the way why is that dude look like he has got a slave master somewhere, dude is like a laughing stock of the year. I hope homie catches an l and does the pass away thing

  4. persian is not arab.

  5. I’m black and this shit is fucked up!!!!
Busta need to turn in his rap liscense for this and I’m a Busta fan.

    THUMBS DOWN TO BUSTA!

  6. I am Christian but I grew up w/ one half mainly people of Islamic decent and the other Hindu!
I’m am not any of those two and I’m completely embarassed and pissed all at the same time that Busta won’t even be sensitive to ones religion and community not to mention he coverted to the Islamic faith some years ago!! What da hell man!!! My recent ex-girl’s family’s faith is Islam and when I would repeat some words that they would say that I recalled when I was a yougin she would tell me to stop and would get on me even though I was joking around. She told me it was against her faith and was disrespectful and to not do it in public. I was repeating the calling they would make when it was time to pray.

Nevertheless, I stopped cause I knew better for I grew up watching it and I know how serious it is. Here is someone who converted and still blantly defends his ignorance and goes and does 2 or 3 remixes to the fucking track. Making us black people look bad Busta REAL BAD!

  7. To make what I said clear when I said “I am Christian but I grew up w/ one half mainly people of Islamic decent and the other Hindu!” I meant I grew up around people who’s faith were Hindu and Islam!

  8. I’m more concerned with homie wearing a Pittsburgh Penguins tee, haha. LET’S GO PENS!

  9. imartsysowhat? :
it is against islam to use any thing from the quran in music. so making a song with the words of islam is a pure sin. and atl, shut the fuck up.

  10. Great concept. Stupid conversation.

  11. ATL arabs DID NOT build the pyramids!!…lol

  12. @ Lil’ Ish: Thanks for informing about that; learn something new everyday.

    @ Conviced, Lil’ Ish:

You guys got it mixed up, “ATL” didn’t say that about the pyramids, it was “Unxpekted aka DMV Disciple.”

  13. this is stupid….
not worth the discussion. stop being sensitive

  14. Egyptions are technically arab so yes they did

  15. Modern Day Egyptians are now Mostly Arab, Howver Egypt has a deep rooted ancestry with Black Africains i.e. Nubians learn somethin fool!

  16. They did not build the pyramids, the pyramids had already been built before they even invaded north africa smh. Europeans invaded egypt long before the arabs did. So the arab’s currently living in present day egpyt aren’t african/egyptian. Damn man understand “african history” before you begin typing. I’m guessing you didn’t do to well during history class/ huh?

  17. I think the dance that went with the song is the offensive part to me. And ATL needs to learn that Egypt is a par of Africa, the center of civilization.

  18. theres a timeless debate about who built the pyramids.. Assyrians, Sumaritans, Babylonians, Romans alone contributed a lot to discovery and advancement and these later became Arabs or Europeans

  19. After listening to it yea it’s pretty offensive and ignorant

  20. offensive and ignorant? can someone point out a line in that song that says arabs are this or arabs are that? folks need to recognize when someone is simply just trying to play the “outdo the next man” game. nothing new in hip hop. played out, even. unfortunately, when the average person thinks of arab cats and money, they see platinum palaces, gold leaf toilet paper and all kinds of wasteful shit. money to burn shit. so it’s just his way of saying “i got more cash than you”. THAT’S ALL. not saying it’s a smart idea (aside from the fact that he don’t even have ODB food stamp money, the song is wack), the fact of the matter is that that’s all it is. anyone seeing beyond that is digging too deep…

  21. How is it “diggin too deep” when it states it in the Koran that the words from the Koran should not be used in music? It is considered to be mocking the Koran and their faith. The intention was to give the community props but he didn’t do his research on the gibberish part and the part where he uses

This song is the equivalent of saying “Hallelujah! Praise be to God. Amen!” in your hook then nearing the end of the hook you say “I’m a rich millionaire” and then in your verses your talking about fuckin bitches, drinking in the club, flossing on haters and buying expensive whips.

How is it “diggin to deep” when they use a term from a religion in the hook and at the same time you’re talking about money… and in your verses you’re talking about clubs, women, flossing, flaunting you name it? People do look too deep into things but this is not one of ‘em.

  22. Basically his intent is GOOD but his delivery is BAD!
Better yet this song is really a BACKHAND COMPLIMENT!
