People need to forget about the wordplay and the flow he’s not rapping. He never claimed that he was rapping, he called his whole CD Pop (Pop Art to be exact). Listen to what the man is saying and you’ll see why Shake and others (including myself) say it’s a phenomenal song.

This is a phenomenal song. These lyrics come from his soul. When hip-hop or indeed any genre of music talks about being real and genuine and singing from the heart, they are talking about this. He’s freestyling and just opening up his heart and listen to what comes out! He’s telling us that all the Gucci, Lui V, and expensive shit he can buy, all the stuff he brags about and is dear to him, means nothing when he’s lost his mother and the girl he loves. It’s a common idea (material goods don’t bring happiness), but here he really means it. And this is Kanye West telling us this! If you can’t figure out what he means when he talks about wanting to be a real boy then you’re listening to hip-hop for all the wrong reasons. My favorite Kanye song and he doesn’t even have to rap. A+
