Ludacris – I Do It For Hip Hop f. Nas & Jay-Z [NoTags]

The track that everyone’s been waiting for is finally here. Too bad it’s tagged to shit (thanks DTP). I’m sure the NoTags version will be here shortly and I’ll edit away. Also, hit the jump for the Return of Ludacris. UPDATE: BoBo fired off the version w/o those wack tags. Still clean though. Enjoy! Also, Much Music has the entire (clean) album up for stream.

  1. BOOM
this is nuts, thanks a lot

  2. Theater of the Mind is looking to be a classic, god damn. Nice drop DopeBoyz.

  3. Classic?…come on Ameree..its Ludacris….

this will be a good album..but classic? NAW

they all came hard on this track though

  4. Crazy track, dont understand why ppl hyped it so badly though…

  5. beat was perfect for the song

luda killed it the most, crazy rhyme schemes

    nas went in

jay’s verse was real…i thought that last line was pretty hard

  6. dont hate on ludacris cause of his commercial songs from the past, he spits bars.

  7. jay was the best

  8. STRAIGHT FYAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH 10/10

  9. straight heat!

  10. this is the one i downloaded a few hours ago when i found out bout it on wikipedia. i hope some more leak. esspecially that Last Of A Dying Breed.

  11. I hate to say it because he’s my favorite rapper, but Jay is falling off. Like hella

  12. dopeness, cant wait to hear it without any tags & explicit.

album is shaping up real nice.

  13. Like sloop said, we can’t really hate on Ludacris for his commercial songs he’s done in the past, and I noticed he’s matured a lot in terms of how he spits, which is the reason why I threw the word Classic out there. If this album isn’t a Classic, then the next one sure as hell will be.

  14. god jay-z is sounding wack lately. :(

  15. Please. Jay’s verse is dope.

  16. Jay’s verse was AIGHT… wasnt fire but it was decent. Luda and Nas killed him tho

  17. NAS !!!

  18. Last of a Dying Breed did leak dude…like 2 weeks ago

  19. the final version of it is what im talkin bout. the one that leaked was just a rough draft.

  20. jay’s verse could’ve been better and since it’s jay, that’s really disappointing. the track is nice though.

  21. ‘Classic?…come on Ameree..its Ludacris….’

Luda’s album have bangers – no doubt, but he’s best in his guest appearances IMO. He doesn’t carry a whole album. Tired metaphors about rims, diamonds, women, weed, repeat. Theatre of the Mind sounds on par with the rest of his albums, so far.

As for this track, easily Nas > Luda > Jay IMO.

  22. I’m dying here for an untagged version. Nice catch anyways, Shake.

  23. OH MY GOD…

    this is fucking HEAT.

one of the best tracks i’ve heard this year.

    DOPE.

    need this untagged asap.

  24. by the way who did the beat? the beat is fuckin rad.

  25. Ludacris has indeed mastered the art of emceeing where you can use the mainstream to sell your craft without putting your soul into the bidding war. I cannot wait for theater of the mind, This is hip hop and what it should sound like.

  26. @jp; Wyldfyer. Same dude that produced “Black Republicans”, and supposedly some other Nas tracks, and also “Last of a Dying Breed”.

  27. dear primo, please remix this. it’s way too ill for a generic ass beat & generic ass cuts. nas killed it.

  28. “And Jazz bummy ass…….”

  29. [...] via 2DopeBoyz [...]

  30. While I can appreciate luda’s attempt to be up their with likes of jay and nas, he just isn’t .

  31. Jay ruins this song. completely ruins the tempo.

  32. wyldfyer? i thought L.E.S. produced black republican?

  33. i’ve heard MVP now. the bootleggers gon be mad. the quality on tracks b4 official release is gonna be fucked up from now on to slow down and decrease bootleggin for sales to go back up. im startin to see a trend in it.

  34. Contagious feat. Jamie Foxx is out too

  35. WHAT??? This beat is NUTTZ! It don’t need a damn Primo rmx… this shit hot the way it is!!!

Nas bodied the track, then Luda and Jay-Z tried to be to arrogant yet versatile with the flow but almost like he feels anything he says is automatically hot without effort. He attempted to use the RUN DMC flow but had no substance in his lyrics.

Newsflash Hov the song is called “I Do It For Hip-Hop”!!! REMEMBER!

How could the self-proclaimmed best rapper of all time be lazy on any track? That off-and-on shit ain’t cutting it these days!

    Deuce!

  36. cool song but doesn’t their beef sorta make this song weird?

  37. whose beef? are you seriously asking about jay and nas?

  38. [...] guess since Jay mentioned Jaz-O in the lastest record with Luda & Nas; Jaz felt it was a way to make a comeback? I seriously [...]

  39. except for the jaz line that verse was one of the weakest jay verses i’v e heard.

  40. FINALLY THE NO TAGGED VERSION THIS SHIT IS ABSOLUTE FIRE

  41. JOINT IS HOT! BUT HOV WAS WEAK! He had some hot lines but as a whole he got bodied on this track. Disappointing.

  42. song is trash.. Dissapointed that 3 top artist would produce this.. No energy they jus sound bored..

  43. “cool song but doesn’t their beef sorta make this song weird?”

Nah, it couldn’t be possible that you’re talking about jay and nas. It’s just not possible.

This track is nuts. To be honest if I hadent heard this I wouldnt have bothered with theatre of the mind but with this and that primo thing – ill actually go and buy the cd. YES the actual real cd.

  44. me too. i havent bought a Luda cd since Red Light District but once i heard Wish You Would a few months ago i started to consider on buyin it then more tracks came out and then Last Of A Dying Breed and this shit here made up my mind.

  45. props on the no tags version. 7 more days.

  46. Uh oh… this might result in me coppin my first Luda album. (Ripped the rest from friends, bootlegged. etc.)

  47. “wyldfyer? i thought L.E.S. produced black republican?”

L.E.S. produced Black Republican. Wyldfyer produced Sha Stimuli’s Black President feat. Skyzoo.

  48. definitely hot. who the fuck cares which verse is better lol

  49. Too early to predict but I am anyway, Ludacris will have the best album of the year

  50. make sure you tell people u can only hear the stream if ur in canada…

  51. shit is a nice smooth track, everybody did their thing smh at ppl saying jay came weak he stayed on topic and he did his thing, maybe not mind blowing but good..i think i will cop this album, i like wat i’ve heard so far

  52. Okay
    This track is TOOO overrated

You have 3 HUGE rap MC’s with basically an unlimited budget

and this is the track they come out with
    c’mon

WE ALL know it cud’v been a lot better

  53. lol where would you see the unlimited budget spent? the beat is perfect.

  54. Jay was sounding off beat an do do like normally. This track is sounding nice. Good job luda

  55. C’mon folks. This is not great work, by any of their standards. Wanted to stop listening before Luda finished his first verse.

  56. Still feels like a special event when Nas and Hov get on the same track. Maybe I’m just getting old..

I enjoyed the shit of this. Thanks.

  57. DIDNT SEE THIS ONE COMING!!! BUT IM HAPPY THAT ITS HERE!!! NAS…LUDACRIS..AND JAY-Z…YEA ITS A RAP!

  58. Nas Killed it and Luda gave him a run for his money Jay was not on point this time around even Luda killed him…….
Have to say the Joint is hot though

  59. [...] have to mention Hov to stay relevant, but yet he still does it. And now Jaz-O thinks he can use Hov’s even Jaz’ bum ass line as a way to get back in the game? Sorry… but [...]
