Word. Btw I wasn’t intentionally downgrading Joey in any way, he’s one of my favorites. & I know it’s “Budden”, I just have become accustomed to the ol’ Buddens shit…but anyways:

It would be a different story if Budden (-s, just 4 u) had claimed he was going off the top, but he doesn’t. When Hamilton is spitting something about “Haters saying I should of spit a written” Joey SPECIFICALLY says “That’s My Job”, implying that he generally spits writtens….

Tons of rappers spit shit they’ve written previously, it doesn’t make them “nothing special”. Being able to spit on a live show; with the beat switching, not fuccin up, etc. takes PLENTY of skill IMO.

Cassidy has some of the illest freestyles I’ve EVER heard(5 minutes,Hot 97,Back2Basics, etc.) and I’m almost positive that all his shit has been previously thought about. But the way he can go for 9 minutes switching beats, connecting bars, is fucking ridiculous. Some “Rappers” are strictly Freestyle Rappers while others only write shit down and some are able to do both successfully…spades a spade.

its budden … no S! and i love how people talk shit about artists spitting written shit. why would you want an artist who never claimed to be good off the top attempt it and put out some wack shit? why not take a verse (even if you heard it before) over a different beat, etc. fans are so critical, it’s crazy. i’m gonna write a book (one day)… i promise. about these “fans”

Dog…Buddens even says a couple times that IT WAS WRITTEN. Freestyles today are being able to switch between beats, connect your verses, and do it live (Cassidy GREAT example of this).

I bet 87.89% of the artist you’ve THOUGHT you saw freestyle, were spitting a written. BUT if you wanna see some dope shit off the head peep Juice, *probably one of the sickest off the top….

A majority of the niggas in the game can’t freestyle sir…so what you’re saying isn’t about much….not to mention, freestyling doesn’t exactly make you “special”…niggas don’t spin freestyles on the radio; they spin SONGS. Granted, I’m not a fan of a nigga spitting writtens when someone goes off the top, but that does not equate to Joey being nothing special. Charles Hamilton is dope as shit….but so is Joe Budden.
