Not that the unofficial video wasn’t dope, I’m just glad Tip put together a real video for his first single off the upcoming album, The Renaissance. Dropping the day after my birthday, or Election Day. November 4th.

  4. I dig the song and the video, but it’s funny because Q-tip is a benefactor of timing. Hip-hop has come full circle, back to a point where he can jump in the game and not be seen as to eclectic. His first album was hot. It had tons of Dilla produced tracks, but the hip-hop world was on some Ja-rule shit when it dropped. It’s good to see that some of the cultures pioneers understand staying relevant and in touch.

    But I was just wondering right now…
    maybe Lupe and him have been holding the “Paris, Tokyo” Remix back so Tip would be getting more play around the same time his album drops.

    but anyway ..i read an interview with Tip..they asked him what producers he worked with for the new album …his response was..
    Q-Tip: I produced the album myself. There will be a live band also.
    sooo i guess HE made the beat ..

  9. That is a Dilla beat. He’s got Dilla, will.i.am, Mark Ronson, alongside himself on the album (as far as producers go).
