Various Artists – KYLIENS (Mixtape)

This project only caught my eyes because the homie KNO and his counterpart Deacon the Villain (CunninLynguists) we’re a part of it. Needless to say, I’m glad I took note…

On a random weekend over 40 Lexington area emcees came together for the love of Hip Hop & fellowship to recreate a classic. The choices were between Dr. Dre’s Chronic 2001, Common’s Be & Outkast Atliens (Other albums were considered but instrumentals were not available for every song on the albums).

  7. Yo! I can’t even lie. I thought this shit was going to be straight garbage. This shit is bananas. I almost feel bad even saying this but some of the tracks off this are better than the originals. Hard to do but they pull it off. And “2 Dope Boyz In A Chevrolet” is a monster!!! Is that Kno on the skit? Shit is funny. Song should be the theme song for this page. “Kyliens” is damn near classic itself. 9.5/10.
