(2)Dope To Sleep On…

Once again it’s that time where we spotlight artists we think bring something different to the table that you’d normally not find the usual way. Yep, dopeboyz is for the people. First go around we introduced J.A.M.E.S. Watts (Jersey), Black ELement (Massachusetts) & Grynch (Seattle) and now we have more. Check them out after the jump…

Legacy Ent. (Arizona): Even though I posted their mixtape a while ago, I still think people are unjustly not hip to this crew out of Arizona. Maybe this track will change all of that. Shouts to Belize for supplying the latest dope cut from Blanko and Barshaun.

Black Friday (New York): I’m a little biased right here because duke is actually my friend, but after listening to his beats I must say I’m impressed by the ridiculously dope, multi-hued instrumentation. I would say more, but then that’d border on knob-shining [||]. Check it out.

Wordsmith (B-More!): Alright, it’s Shakes turn to drop some new heat on ya’ll. Up first I wanted to put the spotlight on my man Wordsmith. I’ve posted songs from him before and if you visit HipHopDX you’ll see he’s running shit. Fresh off his The Revolution Begins with a Takeover v.1 mixtape (presented by HipHopDX), Words is readying The Mid-Year Review mixtape with DX and DJ Denox (featuring tracks below). Don’t sleep suckas. You know if Shake & HipHopDX co-sign, they are worth the listen.

J. Cole (NC to NYC): And last but not least, Fayetteville’s own J. Cole. I recently got put onto dudes music by way of DJ On Point with his new mixtape, The Come Up (which is below). J. Cole moved to NYC to attend St. Johns and further his music career. Rhyming over some Kanye, Ski, etc production, Cole runs through topics from carefree days of college to what seems to be an endless plight of those have-nots scrapping for change. Another (2)dope selection for your iPod Zune.
