So to add more fuel to the fire. Well is it even a fire? I mean Mikey (of The Cool Kids) just brushed it off, while Jay Electronica hasn’t even given it the time of day. The audio of this did well on the site as it brought out the supporters of Jay and TCK. Now there’s visuals!
PREVIOUS: Mazzi – Lesson A (Jay Electronica & The Cool Kids Diss)
Hip Hop, Video

this shit is so weak it is laughable, the guy can’t even lip sync to his own fucking lyrics. someone needs to snuff him out
stop promoting this garbage…jesus this sucks
ya shake i love you in a online-you-give-me-my-hiphop-fill way, but this shit is GAHbage
i know its garbage. i just like when the jay elect and cool kids fans come and talk. its funny. things like this get more people talkin then when i post a cool kids track! i dont think this is hot at all.
mazzi was a better mc than half the shit played on mtv. be honest kinfolk.
the dude got a point bout all the feminine hipster shit in that whole family of mc’s— kanye, lupe, cool kids, pack, pharell. that shit is NOT hiphop. it’s pop hop glam rap.
who are you to sit and judge what hip hop is though? same goes for mazzi. just because it’s not his style doesn’t mean it doesn’t belong. it’s stupid to try and keep hip hop’s doors closed. how do you expect the culture to grow and evolve when people like him and yourself want “type a” and only “type a”
what the fuck does he hate on jay electronica? cause he has a buzz bigger than he can dream about?
the cool kids are corny, but this guy sucks
sickass hiphop hating. cmon now, next thing you know he’ll be sayin plies is the truth cuz he from the hood..gtfoh…
Dearest Shake,
tight jeans are not hiphop.
I understand that the development of the genre requires that new styles are explored but what I think the True School thinks is that some of these new jacks have just gone too far and are about to walk off where the sidewalk ends. Big up Shel Silverstein.
Anyhow, you ask who I am to judge what is and is not hiphop. To challenge authenticity is a very hiphop thing to do. you should know this. I’m not saying that these cats don’t have hiphop in their bloodlines but its is an amalgamation of genres that some of these so-called hipster-hoppers are repping. you can’t keep expanding HIPHOP to include EVERYTHING— eventually it will mean everything and nothing to everyone.
p.s. don’t lump me in with this Mazzi dude.
tight jeans are not hiphop.
^^^
well I say truth be told, you full of shit. itght jeans aint hip hop?…a few things…
1. thats they own style dont worry about the next man, and what he doin or wearin thats more gay than wearin tight jeans, if its hip hop and music jsut listen to the music man.
2. yeah you might be too young but I rememebr a time when everybody had some tighter fitting jeans on…no loose size 60 jeans thats hangign half way off ya ass. go back to the beggining homie…check what kind and size of pants that chuck d, run dmc, GMF & The Furious 5, Kool Mo Dee, Kurtis Blow, LL, and countless others were rockin back then…that was they style, so these dudes liekt eh cool kids embrace the 80’s cause they grew up with it and want to show homage and get a new sub genre and image of 80’s style and sounding hip hop and bring it to today’s audience. I dont wear no nut huggers but dman if Im gonna be crying about some other dude who does…it looks silly to me but whatever man its they style and they life, just keep it movin seriously.
also this clown ass dude tlakin shit on jay Electronica…esp the part about he dont need no silly ass bitch (im guessing he tlakin bout erykah, who well prob has mroe talent then this dude and his whole team of rappers) to get put on. Well he might not need no silly ass B****, but he need a silly stupid wack as hell internet “beef” with two of the most popular internet buzzin acts to gert put on and to get soem shine. this dude is a instigator and full of shit.
sorry shake, had to get that off my chest.
I’m pretty shure Miss E. Badu wouldn’t give it up to this guy ANYWAYS. Great video though (HA!). I got $5 in my pocket too, so Ima go make a video AND a song dissin him (cause that’s about all this weak vid cost). Dude knows Jay and Cool Kids are poppin’ off right now. And what better way to get promotion when you’re a shitty rapper looking for a deal? Diss someone better than you!
Yeah. hes pulling a 50.
Stop giving this fuck pub. fuckin clown
my point is proven on why i posted this. see the discussion it sparked? yep.
This guy must be tight he didn’t get a response yet. Mazzi is the true definition of a sucker mc.
your a suttle and smart blogger Shake.
Other than the pants thing (and Mazzi is far from the first to question that shit – I couldn’t give a fuck less what clothes other guys wear, but they are all confused thinking they’re lookin fresh in girls jeans) no one here has actually responded to what Mazzi brought up.
I don’t really care to defend Mazzi and I don’t necessarily agree with him – but he brings up some valid points.
I think making this record a specific diss to two people was a mistake. But the game is really strange right now. All these hipsters have so much hype, and for what? I don’t listen to everything that Shake posts but I sample most and I’m still waiting for a Jay Electronica track that I like. The cool kids aren’t whack, but they’re nothing special. Micky Factz has a ridiculous amount of hype (in nyc), and loves dropping his ‘the leak’ (big up mtv ad people), but can someone please point me to one track that is fire? One track from any of these new breeds that reminds you of the first time you heard an early (any big time rapper)? Mazzi ran through album covers of a lot of classic rap albums, are we ever going to see a Cool Kids album in the canon of hip hop classics? No one can know, but it seems unlikely, right?
How many people know about the S.O.U.L Purpose album from 03? On a credible (but I think now defunct) underground label (Coup D’Etat). Well regardless, It’s hot. And certainly caters to the upbeat, white friendly styles of Cool Kids etc. You are all so quick to dismiss this cat, but he does have some credibility, and certainly more experience than those he’s attacking.
To me, most of the hipster rappers are just the rap Good Charlotte, they can make some catchy ass songs (peep The Knux), but that shit doesn’t last. And where is punk music now? I don’t mean to say that hipster rap is the death rattle of hip-hop, but it may never be the same.
Your arguement is mostly a to each their own. You don’t like tck factz or jay elect, that’s fine. But so-called ‘hipster’ is ‘wack’? Lets not forget the lcd drug rappers, and such and so forth. Hiphop has and will always be a to each their own. Even tho you should give it up to the rappers you named. Wats with all the labels anyway. Its fuckin HIPHOP!
It looks like he made the video using photo-booth on a mac.
It also looks like he’s trying really hard to insult them, but comes short. I am assuming he is arabic because he is complaining about Mikey wearing a keffiyeh, with a sign that says “My Culture doesn’t equal a fad.” What does that say about hip-hop? When a black man is being told he isn’t Hip-Hop by an arabic person? So an arabic person can be Hip-Hop but not a black man with a thing for shrink to fit levis? Fashion has always had a hand in Hip-Hop. Tight jeans or not…Hip-Hop fashion has always been different.
From Grandmaster Flash with his stud bracelets and shiny gloves in the video to “The Message” to Lupe’s Romanelli jackets and fall of rome jeans.
Hip-Hop = FASHION
holy fuck debate
id you don’t think the cool kids’ music is “hip hop” then you don’t know shit. raw ass beats with rapping over top of it is the essence of hip hop.
Mazzi is expressing himself…& that’s HIP HOP! Whether u like it or not, that’s another story!!!
Mazzi needs to keep exposing these wack rappers. WTF is a Jay Electronica, corny ass Midwestern wanna be internet pranksters!!!
