Background story: during my excursion to Pete Rock’s session at the Guitar Center this past Sunday, I had the pleasure of meeting Jay Electronica and chatting it up for a few. So when I hit the Rock The Bells/MySpace 2008 Festival Series Release Party a few days ago, I ran into Jay again and freewheeled a video interview. And yes, that’s me talking. I know, I hate my voice too.
How did only two people know who he was at that Pete Rock session?! I feel like that would be his type of crowd, kinda. RTB is going to be fire.

Nobody buys their own accent, goofy. It’s not an accent to YOU, it’s an accent to those who don’t have the same accent that you do lol. It’s a POV sorta thang. Just like I think I sound normal. But I’m sure not everyone thinks so.
