In honor of the memory of the late great great James Yancey I’m gonna dedicate most (if not all) the posts today to one of the greatest to ever do it. My man 6th Sense (mixtape coming soon /plug) passed this footage my way from the Donuts Are Forever 2 event put on by Rare Form. An evening to celebrate the life and legacy of Jay Dee (aka J. Dilla) and raise money for Lupus. Hosted by Phonte (of Little Brother), the video features cameos from everyone from Torae (what up!), Illmind, Marco Polo, Tanya Morgan and much more. We miss you Dilla Dog!

  3. I SO saw a shirt yesterday that said “Rest in Beats” on it. Had like a skull and then a turntable/mic or something somewhere on it. Almost bought it. Should have.

    Damn.

    Peace to Dilla’s fam and of course to the man himself. A talented mind lost.
