As I told ya’ll earlier, the Slaughterhouse single is here! And you already know… it’s a NewMusicCartel world premiere! Don’t worry… it’s tagless haha. UPDATE: Added the official CDQ, clean and instrumental. Don’t say I never did anything for you. August 11th is the date, be sure to support!
A little late on this week’s Wrap Up as I couldn’t get to labeling and setting up the post until now (add that to the fact that Slimm sent it 2 days late haha). Don’t worry though, we’re working the kinks out and will be dropping them on Mondays like planned within the weeks to come. Anyways, for those that haven’t caught on after a month… it’s a weekly mix we will be running that features (2)dope music that has been posted the week prior. A catch up of sorts, incase ya’ll missed something. This week we’ve got new music from Slaughterhouse, 50 Cent, El Prez, Shawn Chrystopher, Jay Electronica, The Game, Rapper Big Pooh, Immortal Technique, Chino XL and much more.
Saw this over at Low’s lair earlier today, but got too wrapped up in it to actually post. Michael rehearsing for his This Is It tour. Recorded just two days before his death. Damn…
On September 8th, Mr. Walker will be dropping his Evening Out With Your Girlfriend EP, with illRoots (and possibly 2dbz). Until then, he’s been jumping on a few choice cuts and remixing them to his liking. These three come via Lily Allen, Martina Topley Bird & the Black Eyed Peas. And yes, I already posted Fuck You in a previous What’s in the Tapedeck. So what…. if you have a problem, replay the chorus haha.
Torae and Masta Ace perform Hold Up (off Double Barrel) at SOB’s during DJ JS-1 and Blaq Poet’s album release party. Double Barrel, Ground Original 2: No Sell Out & Tha Blaqprint… all available now!
The Brown Bag AllStars continue to release (2)dope music by way of the Brown Bag Season series. This time Soul Khan, Koncept & J57 rip over a marink produced cut. Shouts to DeeJay Element on the cuts.
Here goes a joint that might be on Kurupt & Terrace Martin’s upcoming album, Streetlight. The final decision has yet to be made. Hopefully it does as this track is dope. Anyone doubting Kurupt’s skill on the m-i-c or those saying he fell off should definitely take a listen.
As promised, here goes the latest installment of Mr Peter Parker’s How Hard Do You Hustle series. And this time, Wiz Khalifa takes the driver’s seat and flies high.
A few weeks ago, we had Wiz Khalifa in the building. We did a dope interview and he spit a nice freestyle. That night, he had a show at Epic Nightclub in downtown Minneapolis. We hooked a live feed through a mixer via PC and recorded the whole show. Wiz did a nice 10 song set that any Wiz Khalifa fan would like to have. Records off Flight School + classic Wiz shit, make up this live concert mixtape.
Unlike my partner in blogging… I have spun Relapse (more than once) and this is one of my favorite joints off the album. I just hope there’s minimal (if not any) Swedish Eminem on Relapse 2. As this and Underground are fantastic, as are the two bonus tracks. Come on Marshall!
Fly Society is a company I [Curren$y] started a year ago. [At] first it was gonna be a streetwear brand/clothing line that I was puttin’ together and my homeboy Terry Kennedy (Ice Cream skate team) was helping me to get skate teams involved in the brand. Then we decided we might as well start knockin’ some music out ‘cause I had some homies from the city that get down and they just needed some situations too. I figured with me being “on” that it would be a good thing for me to set up a label. That was when my Cash Money situation was lookin’ prosperous, so I put that together for all my homies from the city so that they would have a ticket, be it through the clothing line or be it through niggas from New Orleans who’re skatin’ ‘cause now I see that they got a lot of kids skatin’ out here. So just to make a way for that and help skatin’ grow in my city. I needed an umbrella to be under to make all them moves. I couldn’t just be me and say “I wanna save the city!” So I came up with my company Fly Society. Now from there I got the Fly Society West that I gave to Terry Kennedy. That’s my man, I set up Fly Society West with him and he put one of his homies— actually his cousin— H.I.T. so we put together a group out there too [called] Fly Society West. Then I come home and do everything from right here. This the founding office! New Orleans right here with me.
While I sit here and wait for this Slaughterhouse joint to hit my inbox (should be soon) I figured I’d drop this unreleased mixtape form the ¡Mayday! emcee (more info here); with production from K-Salaam & Beatnick, DJ Spinna, Blockhead and more.
and now to the point!……I’m writing this to prologue me posting it up for anyone who’s interested in checking it out. A friend asked me for a copy and as I was putting it together I realized there were some vibes I still enjoyed and I did work my ass off at trying to put it all together so I might as well share it with my 305ers and anyone else in cyberspace who cares to take a listen. I learned a hell of a lot in this extremely frustrating but fun life cycle and wouldn’t trade it for the world. For anyone who’s ever enjoyed any of my music……While I’m finishing up the next mayday project and wrapping up my actual first proper solo release (on my terms)…Check out what wasn’t meant to be and what I could do nothing with….but learn…..Some you might dig….some you might not………….Ez

Splash just shot over a Sheek Louch assisted record; that he did for some unknown German rapper. I’ve included Sheek’s verse below and if you’d like the full version, download here.
It’s been a while since I’ve seen anything from The Niceguys, so it’s nice to know that they’ll be dropping new music in the upcoming future. In the meanwhile, enjoy this Gatorade-sponsored event known as the Tipping Point in Houston.
